X-Men: The Last Stand

My wife and I got some free time to check out this flick this past weekend and we enjoyed the movie immensely. I’ve been a fan of the the X-Men series for a long time and enjoyed the first two movies.

The third installment continues the character development from the previous movies, so it is best to have already seen the previous two movies to get the most out of this film. There are a lot more visual effects and high-flying action in this film as compared to the previous two versions, but there is still a nice story to enjoy through it all.

I would recommend this film to any comic book or X-men fan. Also, be sure to wait for all of the credits to roll by before leaving the theater, you’ll thank me later!

Assuming the comic book fans can put the official x-men “canon” out of their mind while watching, it’s a fun movie. Very obvious that Halle Berry threatened to leave unless she got a bigger role, though.

Gotta say, Frasier as Beast wasn’t nearly as horrible as I expected it to be, and Colossus’ armored form looked way better than I expected.

Yeah, “Storm” definitely had a leading role, and Cyclops was essentially nullified very early in the film. From what I can remember from the comics and the cartoons, Cyclops was the leader of the group and had a big role in it..but oh well!

I didn’t mind Grammer as Beast at all, he was quite good..

Now, of course, they can’t make any more X-Men films, gotta wait for the spin-offs..

Did you see the extra scene after the credits? In case you missed it, Dr. Xavier was in the hospital bed. It was never really him that died.

Yeah, we stuck around to the end of the credits and saw the ”bonus” footage. Though I don’t think that was necessarily Xavier in the bed, but rather his conscience has been transfered from his own body to that of another mutant who is alive, breathing, but has no higher brain function.

So in essense, they are saying that Xavier has surived, in one fashion or other.
