Batman Begins

Batman Begins is the latest installment in the Batman saga that began with the first aptly named Batman. I’ve watched all but the previous Batman & Robin edition that had George Clooney take on the role of the caped crusader and battle such villains as Mr. Freeze(Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Poison Ivy(Uma Thurman). I think I just ran out of patience for meaningless plots.

I was, therefore, weary of watching Batman Begins when it came to the theaters, but many people told me that they enjoyed it. I did not get a chance to watch the movie in the theater, but managed to watch it on DVD recently and I must say that I like this particular movie the best of the entire saga. All the other movies start with the fore-knowledge of Batman’s existence and purpose. This movie, attempts to look at the early stages of what makes Bruce Wayne take on the persona of Batman.

The acting in this movie is superb with Liam Neeson creating a wonderfully ominous villain and Christian Bale is possibly the best Bruce Wayne/Batman next to Michael Keaton in the original Batman.

I highly recommend this movie for action movie and comic book fans.
