Rohan Davey signs with the Cards
I wrote almost a month ago that Rohan Davey was released by the Patriots. The most likely team to pick him up, at that point, were the Miami Dolphins. But it would seem that the Arizona Cardinals have moved in quicker to sign him to a one-year deal.
WIth the starter Kurt Warner injured, and Josh McCown as the backup, that makes three QBs for the Cards that are on one-year deals. Hopefully, Davey will show some of the prowess and glints of brilliance he showed in some of his games with the Pats. Perhaps this will be his opportunity to step into the staring QB role.
In other unrelated Patriots news, turns out that Rodney Harrison will be out for the rest of the season placed on I.R.
His agent, however, says that Harrison full well intends to return to the Patriots once he has healed from this injury and that’s good news.
The Patriots are now once again dealing with a depleted secondary. Poole and Gay have not returned from their injuries. Various players include Gus and Chad Scott, unrelated, are playing at the safety and cornerback positions. It seems every year the Patriots go out of their way to ensure that the secondary is well stocked with players and finds itself will majority of those players injured.
I guess getting depth at the secondary positions is just very difficult for the Patriots.
How long will it be before we see Troy Brown playing the nickel back again?
Cheers
