Our Rhode Island trip
Over the Labor Day weekend, my wife and I made a trip down to Rhode Island to check out some mansions, some ocean views and the rest that RI has to offer.
We stayed in the town so Cranston, RI which is about 10 miles from Providence. On our first day we traveled to Birstol to check out some mansions. We came to Blithewold mansion, which was impressive to see. In addition to the mansion, they have a nice rock garden, display garden, and a wonderful ocean view on some 10+ acres.
We decided that one mansion was enough and didn’t bother to see anymore. We then traveled to Providence to check out a very huge mall called Providence Place. Yes, we went to a mall on our vacation.
When you visit RI you’ll also know why.
Right next to the Providence Place is, what I think, the state house. Regardless of what the building actually is, it’s very impressive looking. You can see those pictures in the gallery.
We wound our day down on the beaches of Narragansett and finally ended our day by having dinner at a Mediterranean restaurant right near our hotel.
On our second day we traveled to Jamestown to check out some local parks and photo spots, and lastly we arrived at Newport around noontime. We hung around the wharf for a bit, had lunch at a wonderful Thai restaurant and then made our way back home.
