Star Wars: A triology saved
A couple of weekends ago I finally got a chance to see Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith and I must say that I left the theater feeling good about the movie.
The movie kept up to the reviews indicating that it was the darkest of the prequel trilogies and that it was completely action packed. I enjoyed the saber rattling quite immensely and hearing Darth Vader’s trademark breathing and James Earl Jones voice emanate from the dark Lord was well worth the admission price in my books.
For those of you who have already seen the movie, you can continue reading to get my take on it. For the rest of you, if you intend to watch it then definitely do so before reading any further. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
I’ve been a fan of the Star Wars franchise since I saw Episodes 4 through 6 and have played virtually all of the computer games that have spawned from the movies. I was eagerly awaiting this final release to put it all together.
The movie does it’s job well enough. There is still a lot left unsaid and untold through the prequels, but there is enough there to allow viewers to transition to the latter 3 episodes without feeling like they have no idea what’s happening.
If you approach the movie as a simple spectator and not a Star Wars fan, you will find a lot lacking as far as the acting, story telling, dialogue and the general progression of the film. But as a Star Wars fan, you will most likely overlook a lot of the failings with your personal knowledge of the saga. Regardless of your approach, for the sake of completion I recommend this third movie to finish off one of the most fun saga’s in film history.
Now, if they’re just release new space simulators based on the movie, I’d be a very happy camper!
Cheers
