Fat cat means more now

The dictionary defines the slang phrase “fat cat” as

fat cat
n. Slang

1. A wealthy and highly privileged person.
2. A wealthy person who is a heavy contributor to a political campaign

But now there is more to the slang than the mere financial aspect. This article from Yahoo! News says that “The prevelance of obesity is growing three times faster among Americans who make more than $60,000 a year than it is among their low-income neighbor”.

Goes to show money doesn’t buy you everything.
