The Presidential Debates
The debates are about to end, and as I write this President Bush is making his closing statements. Throughout the debates he has severely underestimated Senator Kerry’s message, his oratorical strengths and so much more.
George W. Bush has been touted by the talking heads as one who is going to stick to his message and ensure that no one can sway him from his stance. This, however, I believe backfired here because his single message isn’t the answer to every question.
Rather than spending time speaking of how he would handle various situations and scenarios, Bush spent most of his time attacking Kerry. This only strengthens Kerrys position as he is indeed lending his perspective on the issues at hand.
With his little antics, interjections and various other actions Bush just seemed too eager to pounce on things that Kerry was saying. It was blatantly clear that Bush was losing his temper at portions of the debate and became sarcastic.
In my opinion, Kerry seemed a lot more poised with his responses to not only the questions from the moderator but also to the Presidents snide remarks. Bush spent too much speaking of things that held no answers to the questions at hand. The more you listened, the more confused you got.
To think, this is the President that has lead our country for four years. Let’s hope that there aren’t four more!
Cheers
