Welcome to the new site!

Welcome! Here is the next iteration of AshwinBihari.COM. I’ve moved away from PHP-Nuke and moved towards a more BLOGing style of a website. In moving my website to a different web host I got to think about what I was doing with my website and it came down to pretty much a place to put pictures and have (hopefully) interesting posts about a variety of subjects.

To that end, I’ve moved to this particular BLOG software coupled with a stand alone installation of Coppermine to act as my photo gallery.

1. BLOG portion of the website.

   This portion of the website is going to contain a running dialog of entries whenever I get a chance to post. They will contain full articles, links, etc.

   1. Login:
      You are more than welcome to create an user account for this portion of the website to post your own remarks. For now, anonymous commenting on posts is enabled.
   2. Styles:
      This website features multiple styles (layouts) that vary the look and feel. You can easily switch between the various styles by choosing one of the samples on the bottom right hand menu. The styles set a cookie and will remain for the duration of the cookie’s existence. Style can be changed without logging in.

2. Photo Gallery

   The photo gallery is a seperate subdomain, yet integrated in the main site. It can directly be accessed as http://photos.ashwinbihari.com.

   1. Login:
      Only a small portion of the photo gallery is available for general viewing. Majority of the pictures are for registered users only. It is highly recommended that you register here. Please be aware that you can register with the same username:password from the main site here as well. They are two seperate and disjoint sites.
   2. Styles:
      The photo gallery also has various styles that can be chosen once you’ve logged in.

3. Registration:

   There are two different registrations that are available on this site. The BLOG section and the Photo Gallery. You can use the same username/password combination on both sites.

   Registration to the Photo Gallery is required for access to private albums. However, registration to the BLOG is not required if you don’t wish to post any of your own posts.
